Melrose's mother was a fey protector of the woods, and her father was an adventurous deer bard. This lineage has granted her powerful magic, but she has no control over it. At random times, these powers could activate, reversing local gravity, summoning otherworldly creatures, or transforming her temporarily (she spends a lot of time as a potted plant).
She is rather shy, avoiding new and scary things, lest her wild magic activate. She has a talent for bonding with all manner of animals, too.
