Haha, awesome work! Not sure if her character's a fennec, but you made her look a lot like one in this style, which is adorable. Her poofy tail along with the blank, staring eyes makes her appear quite startled as well. X3 I'm sure she'll love it!

I don't know if she was based on a fennec fox or not, but her design seems to have big ears. Big ears + ambiguous fox features --> I went with it! I love fennecs (and any kind of animal with huge ears, haha) so I'm not surprised if some of that channels in. Glad she comes across as adequately fox-like to you! (I was aiming for that!)
I think her character design changed recently (or I just mis-remembered her species from the past) and her actual species is a husky-fox hybrid. When I was drawing this, I was working under the assumption that she was a fox/fennec, otherwise I would have tried to add more recognizably husky anatomical features in there.
