A little bird told me...
According to legend, the great god Apollo had a pet crow. When Apollo's wife took another lover, the crow saw everything, and told his master what had happened when he returned home. Apollo was so filled with anger at his bird for destroying his blissful ignorance that he cursed the crow, turning his beautiful white feathers black, and his beautiful voice into a hoarse croak.
Now, many years later, Edger the crow continues the corvine tradition by telling Apollo the conure all about what he saw under the mistletoe last night!

Ooh! Both festive and fun! Well done, Zee, well done!
You know, I've never heard that story before. It's a really good one, though, and I'm glad you took the time to write it out so we could all enjoy it. There's nothing quite like a fun tale around the holidays to captivate the mind during this magical time of year.
Further, I'm super happy to see Apollo getting to meet some new friends and learn neat stuff from a fellow avian. It can be scary to be the new kid in town, but I feel Apollo will enjoy the warm welcome he is getting from all his furry, feathred, and scaly friends during this season of love and good times.
May you have a most merry holiday, Zee! Gabby-Gabby-Gaboo and may Santa bring many wonderful gifties to Y-O-U. :)

And the same to you too, Yosh! *huggles happily*
This picture popped into my head at work this morning. I heard "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" playing on the radio, and thought "If a little cub saw that, he'd probably run to tell Daddy, quick! Hmm, maybe I could draw a picture about that... and ooh, I could draw Edger, like the story about Apollo's tattletale crow! And oooh! Tippie's bird is called Apollo! I could put the two birds together!"
I love it when lots of different thoughts come together like that! ^.^

I couldn't agree with you more, Zee. Creative Campaign 2 has been a true effort in just that. Not to mention my recent post with Baby Yoshi. I've been wanting to show everyone my faithful, plushie-pal, but didn't want to be boring in the presentation. Then, presto! I could gear him up with my ocular tools to make him look nifty neatos and put a bunch of fun together all at once. *Flutters* Oopa!
Here's to creativity and good times, Zee! May Santa bring you lots of paper, pens, pencils, and coloring goodies so you may continue to do even more delightful arts! *Toddles about merrily* Gabby-Gaboo! :)

Talking birds invariably cause nothing but trouble in old stories. Although Apollo's crow was caught in a catch-22 kind of situation, because you know he would have been equally mad if he'd found out from someone else and the crow hadn't told him. The only moral you can really take home here is 'never come into contact with Greek gods' ^.^
The Greek gods never showed a lot of love for mortals, did they? Even when the titans tried to help make their lives a little less miserable, the gods responded by chaining them to rocks and having birds peck at their livers. Much larger, much less harmless birds than the ones in this picture!
Heehee, I'm glad you like it! Like I told Yosh, I'd already thought up the picture when I remembered that your cute little bird was called Apollo, and so I just had to draw him into it! ^.^
Now I wanna do a pic where he accidentally hits his friend Hyacinth in the head with a frisbee while they're playing together... but I've got a lot of other friends I need to draw first ^.^ *giggles and hugs*
