Hello everyone. I'm back with a new artwork. Derpibooru is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Crystal Empire episodes and I decided to make this artwork for the art event. This was my very first time drawing King Sombra. I wonder why I never did that before, I think it was pretty fun and not complicated at all. By the way, his number of padded drawing is really low, as always, I had to fix that :3
For this occasion I was wishing to draw a pose with a lot of more focus in the butt :3 And I think it worked well. Also, you know how much I love the glowing lights and this kind of stuff in my art, so I added it without thinking it twice. The background may be a bit too simple, but I wasn't sure what else to draw and I really wanted that Sombra was the important part of the composition. I loved how the lights resulted here, as well as several shadows of the drawing, but I'm still struggling with some shadows in the diapers. Well, I guess I simply need to practice more and try out new techniques in the future.
So... Isn't this the most dangerous unicorn that you've ever seen? :3

The posing is really nice and gives a lot of love to his diapered butt. Also there's no harm in having a simple background, especially if the main focus is the character in question. Shading can be hard but you have the right mindset too, practice makes progress.

Dangerously adorable! Perhaps the poofy padding would make King Sombra appear less scary to the Crystal Ponies? It could be quite difficult to rule an empire like an evil dictator if you waddled around with a thickly-padded patootie. :)

However, before my eyesight did start to greatly diminish, I remember how much I enjoyed how lighting effects could be applied to various types of crystals. It is quite beautiful and, knowing you, I am sure the background looks as warm and comforting as King Sombra may appear as he tries to assert his authority while having a need / desire to wear diapers. :)

I imagine King Sombra trying to intimidate crystal ponies while he puts a dangerous face, but also wears a diaper. Suddenly the entire population of the Crystal Empire is simply laughing at him for that, the "evil villain" just getting embarrassed of the situation trying to explain that it is easier being a dictator with protection, and also explaining to them how last time he realized that bathroom was too far away from throne room in the castle. Being that castle designed for alicorns without needing frequent breaks for the bathroom it was good, but hey! He is not an alicorn and had to find a solution for that dictatorial trouble!

<LoL!> This would explain why he made such poor choices when Grogar / Discord brought him back from oblivion at the start of Season 9. He was in such a hurry to hypnotize and enslave all of Equestria that he forgot about protecting himself. It would be difficult to take on 'The Elements of Harmony' when you are realizing how important those diapers were to not be distracted as you went about using your Unicorn magic for the purpose of evil.

I wonder if King Sombra would have done better with Cozy Glow admiring him? She seemed to see Tirek as a father figure, but Tirek did not like being fatherly towards Cozy. Perhaps 'The Padded King of The Crystal Empire' would have done better with Cozy as his adopted daughter? I am sure she could show him how to wear padding while still being intimidating. :)

Hehe right. When you see how is the throne room of the castle of the crystal Empire and all this thing of the secret second throne room where the crystal heart was hidden having to walk thousands of steps, it makes a lot of sense the usage of diapers for a comfortable kingdom control :P
Well, Cozy seemed to have a great power to manipulate mentally others, even the older ones, but in reality I think King Sombra was one of the few evil ones who simply preferred to work alone, without any kind of help, he was simply evil and pretended to have the power, anything else, it was of course his biggest weakness, but I don't think he would have ever heard Cozy. She was probably smart enough to choose the proper creatures to "admire" and potentially manipulate in his favor. She was able to put everyone together to raise their powers, but I suspect that if they'd have success conquering Equestria, she would eventually try to betray them once again afterwards.
