I've been having alot of issues deciding the vibes of my new story "Tales of the Shattered World", why? mostly due the imposed technological limitations I got really out of ideas for scenes and stories, it was too limited and I hate do do things that are entirely powered or justified by "magic",also I'm not that great with drawing conventional wood contraptions, my vibe is more diesel/steampunk ....so I'm soft rebooting this story, it will still be a arid post apocalyptic story with sailpowered stuff, but it will have more metalic/junk elements like Fallout or MadMax.
The whole previous story was an interesting experiment,I learned a lot when it comes to ham all sorts of incompatible themes together, and specially with fantasy technology, every time you introduce a new concept you have to stop and think about all the possibilities of that and what that makes obsolete, which is fun and sometimes annoying but by far the most annoying thing to write about and imagine stories around is Danadriel himself, for those who don't know Danadriel (the curvy handsome panther in this drawing) is my fursona and my shameless self-insert, I try to keep him close to me as possible at least in terms of personality and moral compass, but in a way compatible to his reality, but he (and me technically) is not a great character for conventionally structured stories, he is too shy, he don't do small talk or have any interest on other people, he just go in do stuff and go out, this is why most of his stories are inner monologues, also, I like to keep him on the move always going to new places, because I love the concept of nomadic life and stagnation bores me, but its kinda hard to write about complex relations of a guy that don't talk with anyone nor does stay more than a week in the same place,he is a wanderer, he don't really have personal or ideological goals he survives and "go to places" so he is more of a side character than an actual protagonist, he needs someone to give him tasks, which in the new lore is Captain Clutch.
"So why don't you remove him from the story?" because this story is just my sandbox, it exists primarily to entertain me, if one day I get inspired to write something serious and publishable Danadriel probably will not be part of it.
