A cute little icon showing a bunny and her obsession. This stuff is probably going to kill me one day, but I'm hooked.
Good thing rabbits have nice thick fur. That's got to be cold.

She's done a ton of these icons, and they're all as cute as they can be.
I've never really noticed an aftertaste with Diet Coke. Maybe because I'm so used to it by now. There's just something about the regular kind that sets my teeth on edge though. Except that I really liked whatever modification of the formula they use for regular Coke in England. That stuff was really good!

I've tried Diet Coke, Diet Mountain Dew, and a number of other things with "Diet" in their names, and they've all had this bad metallic taste to them. (Except for Diet Rite Pure Zero, but that stuff was just foul, and gave me a wicked headache both times I tried it besides...)
Then again, my poison of choice is sort of an earlier relative to Diet Coke. (TaB if you hadn't guessed already.) Another fine product of The Coca-Cola Company even.

You know, it's funny how the same soda can taste so different to different people. I've never really tried that many different diet sodas. Besides Diet Coke I've drunk Diet Dr. Pepper, which isn't bad though I find that the taste of the artificial sweetener is much stronger there. And I've drunk Diet Pepsi which is only slightly more palatable than the regular kind. But I don't remember any of them tasting metallic. I guess maybe it's down to different amounts of the sweetener, and different sensitivities to it. Goodness knows what's in half that crap anyway.
*raises her mug full of double espresso* I'm surprised no one have yet mentioned the Real Stuff, the Salesmen Killer...
The problem with "diet" sodas is that there are about three artificial sweeteners and all of them, by the virtue of being not sugar, taste off. One of them tastes good when in large concentration, making impossible to make lightly sweetened drinks with it. Another tastes better but isn't that sweet anyway. Oh, and it's harmful to a small number of people with a specific disease. Third has a strong metallic aftertaste. All in all, most drinks have some combination of the above, usually two, sometimes three sweeteners, yet the perceived taste varies from person to person.

I am, too. It's probably a good thing I don't care much for coffee, or I probably would be dead from drinking those.
I won't deny that diet soda is pretty nasty stuff even at the best of times. Personally, I'd almost rather see them all done away with, and just have people learn to drink less of the regular stuff if they're concerned about getting fat. It doesn't hurt anyone to have to learn some self control, and that includes me. Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen.

Smart kitty. I really should get off the stuff myself. It probably is awful for me. Too bad it's so addictive, too. But it does make for a cute little icon, I agree! I can't help but love how happy (and wired) Niamh looks. It's just lucky there's no such thing as caffeinated soda where she lives. Her little world is in enough trouble without having to worry about hyperactive bunnies!
She does, doesn't she? I can only imagine the kinds of mischief she might get into on a sugar high!
I love iced tea, but I'm very picky about it. Most the iced tea that's sold in bottles or cans just tastes off to me somehow. And everybody wants to put lemon in it. I can't stand tea with lemon. So most of the time I only drink what I make myself, and that can get to be a hassle. I should drink more tea than I do, though. One of the great pleasures of cold weather is hot tea, and I've got a whole box of chai just waiting to be brewed.

Mmm! yes. Hot tea is the best. Though usually I drink it cold with some artificial sweetener. I too have a stash of tea for cold weather. My favorite...Constant Comment. My grandma hooked me on it when I was little. (and HER Mother hooked me on beer, but that's a different story...LOL)
*giggles*
That is just too cute! Oh if only there were cans of that size... though I think I still wouldn't be drinking from them, I'm too hooked up on the regular kind, I tried diet Coke once but I just miss the sugar, hee!
*giggles again and winks*
It is indeed a good thing Niamh has such thick fur, though... with this weather, we couldn't have her freezing stuck to the can like that!

If they had cans that size, I'd probably be dead from caffeine poisoning within a week. I'm far too hooked on this stuff. I can drink regular Coke, but it tastes strange to me now. I almost never use regular sugar for anything these days, except if I'm baking. I refuse to use anything other than real ingredients in my sweets, after all. But otherwise even regular sugar by itself tastes odd to me.
*Giggles* I'm sure Niamh wouldn't get stuck. She's a little bit too clever for that, and it would just be too embarrassing, too. But she might still need someone to warm her back up again. Even with that nice thick fur she has, a bunny can get pretty cold.

*chuckles and nods*
I so know what you mean. I've had so much coffee when I was younger that I actually have gotten doctor's advice to stop drinking the stuff. But it certainly makes a lot of sense that when you're used to drinking a specific kind of drink for a long time, drinking anything else, even a different version of that same drink, tastes really weird.
*giggles softly behind a paw*
Yes, it would be rather embarrassing to find yourself frozen stuck to a giant soda can while you're naked... but of course she won't need to worry about finding help to warm back up again, because I so happen to know a certain kitty who will be more than happy t rub the poor chilled bunny allllllllll warm again
