This is a Saiga 12. It is an AK 47 frame modified to fire 12 gauge shotgun shells. It accepts 5, 8, 10, and 12 round magazines and will accept 20 round drum magazines. This weapon can fire as fast as one can pull the trigger and will deliver more firepower than most weapons in existence. The platform was developed originally for the Spetznaz. Yes, it is legal. Yes it is awesome.

*laughs* I had that problem from day one, pretty much. I put a US flash hider on for parts count with the 12 round magazine, but made it so I couldn't use the 5 rounder. That only changed after the conversion. Now, however, I can use whatever I want since I have a parts count of 4 with US mags. :)
It's a tinkerer's shotgun. If you want a shotgun that is beautiful out of the box, get a Benelli. If you want to pick up a shotgun and play with it and tinker on it and do a bit of gunsmithing, the Saiga is the shotgun for you. It's pretty rough out of the box, but the things you can do with it are amazing. :)
