Japan for year? What are you gonna do there, aside from taking as many pictures possible and buying as many cute souvenirs you can find? And I wonder which part of Japan you're gonna stay in? I'm curious. And I've been there myself, way back in 1995 for little over one month. :)
Wherever I go, my camera records it! I'm quite the photo-holic ^___^
I'm staying in Yokohama, which is just outside Tokyo (A lot cheaper than living in the centre of Tokyo!), I'll be teaching English, learning Japanese and keeping up my commission work. I hope to get a view of the many other places I've never visited in the meantime, such as Kyoto and Osaka. Of course, Mt. Fuji-San! So exciting! Where did you go when you visited? :)
