Lame title is lame.
Just got a thought in my head and tried to draw down what I thought it might feel like looking upon a plentiful place of lush beauty and knowing you have to sleep among cold, wet rocks.
I haven't allowed myself to blur anything in a while, being very strict on myself that when I look out the window, no aspects of the world is blurred, so I shouldn't be allowed to blur anything in scenery. But I might go back to it, in order to bring out specific aspects more. I also might go back into this and make the trees more blue to bring out the dulled orange color of the rocks (yaycompliments).
I know my pine tree is super, uber lame. I'm sorry. I'm still practicing.
Rocks were, at first, heavily referenced from screenshots of the game Borderlands (omg I am IN LOVE with the way the scenery is depicted in that game *spazzes*), but eventually, I tossed my reference in favor of a more "stylized" approach.
Will come back to this and make a few more adjustments as I think of them. I'll let you all know when I think I'm done.

LET ME START WITH THIS ATMOSPHERE.
GIRL, WHERE DID YOU GET THEM ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE SKILLS? 8|
I loooove the way the colors have been dulled and the sky has that overcast look to it, and how the rain is not drawn to where it obstructs the other aspects of the picture, but one can still see it falling diagonally across the landscape. And the colors evoke that overall gloomy mood associated with rain. IN OTHER WORDS, just like several other pictures you've done, THIS IS AMAZING AT MAKING A VIEWER USE THEIR OTHER SENSES! (LIEK SRSLY. I can smell the rain and feel the cold wetness of those rocks. And if I could touch that pine tree, it's needles would be thin and slippery. xD)
And now onto the shading. OMGLOVE. Especially on the changing faces of the rocks. WHATEVER YOU DID THERE, I think it would look amazing with the characters. :'DD <3

UM I actually did this after looking through this AMAZING 24-page scenery tutorial, and it had a TON of useful information that was just little things that could be added to make things better. <3 It was amazing.
8D I was trying to make it look like it was a coming rain, so it was starting in the forest down below, but hadn't quite yet reached the mountains yet. c: AND YAY I love getting across that nice, cool rainy feeling. <3 I WAS TRYING. 8D I'm glad it worked. <3
YOU TOTALLY HAVE PERMISSION TO WRITE ME NOVELS.
