Danny struggled to move into the marked place in the darkened room. Looking around, he could barely make anything out. Weren't these magic circle supposed to be glowing or something?

"A little further left... a bit more... THERE!" he heard the voice of the Istrala call out from behind him. "Now, hold still for just a moment."

"Why is the room so dark, anyway?" he asked behind him. "You have plenty of lights. Maybe we can set one up?"

No answer. Danny sighed. "You know, it would be a lot easier for me to do this if I could see better..."

And then he was engulfed in a flash of light.

Danny felt his body change... His size shrinking, his muzzle hardening into a beak, his fur widening and shifting into feathers.

His new talons scratched into the ground as the light faded into total darkness again. Only this time, when he opened his eyes, he found he was able to see much, MUCH better. For a moment, he wondered how he'd had such trouble seeing anything, when it was absolutely clear as crystal... clearer than anything he'd ever seen, in fact.

He looked down at his body... extended a wing, and let out a little noise of surprise and delight. It looks like he wouldn't have to leave in order to see what he'd become!
