That's what it's alluding to but this lantern is a little different. It'll be explained more later but it's designed to do something specific, hence the unique design.
They had thousands of years screwing around on Earth, to me that's a limitless well of magical devices and spells they would have created so I'm leaning into that.

The lantern King Got (which the artist has confirmed this is similar to just not the exact same one) made those within it's field unable to be perceived by Divine entities (thou it might just be divines other then the creator as I think Kitsune was still able to sense those within the one he gave King.. or maybe it's just the item itself they can still sense)
