Gaia is an alicorn from a whole another dimension.
A Villainous Pony used a powerful spell to cast Gaia away so she could not take over to be queen.
She was sent to Ponyville.
She ends up befriending Celestia and Luna.
But falling in Love with King Sombra.
turning her back on her friends and the good she once stood for.
She ends up having a fillie with King Sombra. He was born as a Alicorn.
King Sombra did love Gaia. But he loved power more.
He did end up 'leaving' Gaia and Half Moon. Mainly to seek out the crystal heart. to rule over the empire.
Gaia never once stopped loving him or hating him for this. She deeply misses him every single day.
