I'm not sure if it was that 'one blue eye one brown eye' thingy (the technical name escapes me)
Heh yeah- i was about 20-30' above these guys using all of the zoom on the 70-200mm lens... Ahh well, they might be a bit more friendly and come closer next time i go back (bribery always helps )

Oh yeah... my 70-200mm was the very first glass I spent a little forune on. I remember how I opened the package with wet hands because I was so afraid that I had wasted the money. But it's definitly worth every cent. And even today one of my most favorite ones.
As for the horses... turning your back to them as if you are not interested is usually the best method. Sooner or later curiosity will bring them closer as you don't spend any attention to them at all.

Same here- i shoot mainly aircraft at airshows, and after failing spectacularly with the 18/55 that came with the camera
recommended i go for a 70/200... Now i carry both round with me, just in case
Haha yeah, i've tried that with a few horses... In some cases it's worked (thanks to work i go past a few fields with horses in- one of my favorites is a GV [who i really ought to take a few photos of] that suprised me after i was leaning on her fence talking and the next thing i knew she was blowing in my ear ), other times they just ignore me and carry on grazing

It's a Nikon D3000, had it for just over a year now. I shoot mostly on 'auto' because i'm lazy, but i'm starting to try different settings... I was thinking of having a go at IR photography, but it fell by the wayside... You can get some pretty funky photos though !!
There's no ExIf data beacause i usually just 'print screen' and save it as a .JPEG to upload it on here- the last lot of photos i uploaded actually noticed what the upload limit was so i'll have to try uploading straight from the camera
