Not trying to offend anyone or do anything of the sort. Tabbiefox is just one of my favorite artists, and I wanted to attempt and do his style of sorta Sylvester-y art. As far as prints for friends, I've just been super busy with school that I didn't have the time to sit down and plan out some nice personal pieces for each friend of mine. Or to work on a background. I definitely do not know how to do digital painting. Not trying to rip off anyone's style or use this for personal gain. I just find it relaxing to try and draw based off of my favorite artists styles. Somehow I find it relaxing. I'm very capable of original artwork though. I've posted several pieces that I've done while in school. I just do this for fun. Sorry for offending you Spikie or Tabbie. =/
I think a good way to put this is that I'm not copying his work. While I may have the technical skills to create many different things, I struggle a lot with the conceptual side to art. I was using his work as reference because it's of a more sophisticated style. I wanted to attempt and replicate it to see how his line art functions. To see how his curves create such movement, the proportion work, ect. That way, I can take what I learn from him, and apply it to my own original artwork. Either to know how things should be distanced apart, or to know that while this might work, this may not. I'm trying to better myself and grow as an artist. His work was something I found capable to help in that process. It is his original concept and I give him credit for that.
Well ... Tabbie isnt only an awesome artist he is an awesome friendly purrrsone too, and when you ask him...he'll probably say yes or may be he can helps you with drawin or gives you some advices :/
It's good to have an idols :) but you can be inspire by somebody stuff but you cant copy it :/ ...looks at tabbie he is inspire by sylvester but he put there something what is his own...he use lineart like nobody (thats the way how I find this picture...because I know how he draw stuff) ...look at meh...I've got very similar artstyle as tabbie has...but when you look at it closer...Tabbie has absolutelly different lineart and HIS STUFF is so UNIQUE <3 (but I don't want to draw like him :( never want...I want to find my own way)
When you want to be an good artist you must find something what is characteristik for you and what satisfied yourself :)

I absolutely agree with you, Spikie. He certainly has translated the Sylvester-esque style into something all his own, and did a tremendous job at it. ^^ I should definitely work in the area I struggle in as to progress and become an artist with a unique style all my own. And I'll be sure to send a message Tabbie's way, and ask him for some pointers in doing so. I gotta say what you've said in addition to what Tabbie has said below, it's certainly what I should focus on right now. And I appreciate all that you two have said collectively. =)
Well I do agree that to learn to understand how the artwork flows and works it is required to study the art of others. I myself ecourage people to "trace" the art for studying purposes but it is required to learn from it, e.g. why is it done in certain way, how does it work, the structure behind it, etc. The results from this process can be posted, but deffinitely should be submitted with proper mentioning of the source. However, again - there should be an educative value behind it, blank tracing to impress other people is just wrong and doesn't really get you anywhere..
try studying the art more, find your ways of understanding it and try to work to express yourself with the gained knowledge. It will be a lot more rewarding.

I will say through doing this I feel like I've really gotten to know your lineart quite well. However, it most certainly hasn't helped me progress in the area I need it most, which is conceptually. The world of visual communication is one that is entirely new to me, and one that I still have quite a bit to learn in. I do thank you and Spikie for giving me the push to tackle the areas of my art where I'm not so refined or skilled in. And I would very much appreciate your help in doing so. I'm sure there's much I could learn from you. ^^ I'll be sure to send you a private message soon, Tabbie. :3
