Began work rather last minute on my pitchbook for animation law class, but the one good thing that did come from it were these character illustrations I made for the bio pages. I'm feeling much more confident drawing and coloring in Photoshop on my tablet now. Here is Tenkyou's picture with his bio in the description because when I arranged the text around the image it turned out rather fugly. Enjoy finally knowing a backstory! (Sorta!)
If you were to be approached by this scrawny, green fellow, your immediate thoughts would likely run along the lines of, “Why did he just pay me in dead beetles?” An unlikely candidate, Tenkyou appears as threatening as a lost child in a mall after a binge at the Sweet Factory. His inhibitions are low, but luckily so is his intelligence. That is not to say he is stupid. He understands most things to a certain depth, but a true grasp on rationality and reality is what he lacks. A trip to the bank could somehow find him $15,000 in debt to a Russian mafioso or a simple walk down the street may just as well call upon the almighty power of Cthulhu. Essentially naive, he requires the balance of stability Hakkyou provides to keep his feet planted firm enough to the ground, and yet prior to ever having met Hakkyou, Tenkyou had made his career through the successful execution of 12 homicides. For some unknown reason he has adopted an interest in the bloodier things in life and death with surprisingly adept skills and expertise. This, of course, goes without saying there is an alternate side to Tenkyou, a methodical torture game which
he carries out mostly in his outgoing, fun loving demeanor but can quickly take a less than expected darker turn. Not to mention the red blood makes his green fur so festive.
There was only ever one person to discover Tenkyou’s secret and live...
