Indulgent TF 43 - Who Would You Become?
Strive attempts to talk with the Mutadragon and feed her tasty snacks. Petrus uses his newfound power to stake his claim on the colony. People have opinions about that! And in the background, Avlora's retreat to bolster the government hotel seems to have... mixed results.
This is a big decision chapter! With the final threats of Earth being dealt with, it's time to decide who we become. We've dealt with survival... how should we thrive? What should we Strive to become?
Feel free to get as detailed and elaborate with your ideas of what TF-Land should look like to you. Assume we are dealing with a city state of no more than 10 miles in length, mountainous and forested with good internal farmland.
For the mission statement vote, Chapter Nine is over here, with lots of words about outlook and ideology. It's the bit in the vote section at the end.
Whew! Life has... sucked. More job searching agony, though tomorrow should tell if I continue on the path to being employed once more. Until then,
EDIT: Welp! Interview failure. Back to square one. Again.
PLEASE consider buying either version of Metamorphosis at the Magic Manor. It's lots of tf! I'm sorry that the male version isn't updated to the female version's size yet, but job applications and interviews and coding tests take priority. We're sitting at about $214 in the bank after rent tonight, so... yeah. Not much.
FeMMM!

Oh, heck. A new chapter arrives and it's full of bedlam. Why can't the lam just stay in bed where it belongs?
Colony Reorganization: (My answers will be annotated P, K, or L after the character who proposed them)
- Leadership: Delegated Council (K). Letting everyone have a say seems like the fairest option.
- City Structure: Retrofit and Defend (L). The people should be allowed to keep at least SOME aspect of their former lives.
- Aesthetic: Grandiose (P). Petrus will throw a fit in a very bad way if we don't accept his plan on at least one count, and this seems like the count that'd undermine us the least.
- Reorganization: Kestrel's plan (K). Petrus's plan is too authoritarian, and while Leon's plan overlaps decently with Kestrel's in a few good ways, I think it pigeonholes people too much.
- Mutadragon Fire: Research/Reward (K+L). We should research it and see if it can be used for other things, but we should also make transformation available for those who have earned it and want it (emphasis mine).
- Mission Statement: Keep it as is (L). We chose it for a reason. Power won't make us look friendly, and Comfort will probably lead to laziness.
Government Hotel: Strike. The risk of things getting very out of hand very quickly is very real when the magic is very transformative and very corruptive; it seems very right to cut it off the very first chance we get. Very.
Medic Crew: Compromise - Continue AND Call for Help. Split our forces; stabilize the patient while someone fetches the professionals. It seems like the option a real medic would take.

Alright. A few Ideas regarding the vote:
Leadership: Delegated Council: Having a single leader might have been working not terribly while our colony was pretty small, with the colony as large as it is now a single leader won't be able to effectively represent the needs of the different factions, and presents too much of a vulnerability should they be incapacitated or killed.
City Structure/Aesthetic: Retrofit and Defend/Earth. Given that the world is literally ending, we can't afford to expend valuable resources on vanity projects like changing the aesthetic of the town. In addition, with everything that's already changing in people's lives, some amount of constancy will likely be reassuring.
Society: Employment to role: Petrus's plan is far too authoritarian, however Kestrel's plan risks leaving the government too weak to effectively function. We don't want to risk something like the US Articles of Confederation, where the central government was too weak to control and moderate disputes between states.
Rearrange: Rapture>Adventurers This seems like the kind of thing they would prefer anyway.
Mutadragon Fire: Reaserch/Medical I think it's a bit too dangerous to be throwing around outside of emergency situations until we know more about it.
Government Hotel: Rally for Help we can't afford to wait too long, but just charging in recklessly seems like it could do more harm than good.
Mission Statement Changes:
Faction Focus Novelty -> Building Maybe not as a permanent change, but at least for the moment we need to double down on building up infrastructure and defenses to ensure the continued survival of our colony after the end of the rest of the world
Agression: Strength -> Enclave "Showing ourselves as an example" doesn't seem all that important with the majority of the earth having been destroyed. I think we should instead focus on ensuring the continued safety and prosperity of the city as a whole.
In conclusion, as our faction grows in size and the world around us is torn away we need to focus on keeping things from falling apart. At the end of the day one truth is clear: THE CITY MUST SURVIVE
