As far back as he can remember, Jake has suffered from occasional nightmares that leave him worse than they find him. The scenarios are always different but the characters and the end result is the same, he is devoured by this demon. And when he awakens again he forgets everything that happened in the past 24 hours. Naturally, this has screwed him over more times than not.
