I can so relate to this, I'm quite unpopular, but I don't give a wahoozit, I'm fine and happy just the way I am.

If I said I didn't want attention for my art I'd be lying. Thats why I post here. In some manner everyone is here for some sort of popularity. I think it helps validate why they draw.

Although it sucks when you become a puppet of your fans as opposed to performing.

If you really like Naruto there's nothing wrong with drawing a fan character of, or a character dressing up like one.

But your right, doing it solely for attention or pupularity is sickening.

i dont mind anyone drawing something for the joy of it. i draw sonic stuff because i enjoy it, not for the pageviews!

i of course want attention for my art, but i'm not gonna draw something that i dont want just for the attention

plus i get a lot of attention for comics like these ;)
