First thing I remembered from my dreams last night was this image, or something about as close to it as I can recall.
Knew it was a Kachina face, stylized, so looked it up - I have NO idea what it meant in context of the dream as its the only thing I can remember, like the disembodied head of the Creator chasing the characters in Time Bandits, but its the Sun Kachina mask.

Yeah, that works too - no its been awhile since I've seen it, but actually having just watched the latest Dr. Who too, (Featuring the Head of Bo), I'm seriously starting to wonder how giant disembodied heads have become such a major part of our mythical vocabulary.
The Great and Powerful Oz, the MCP, the Creator - all are giant faces, one of the most instantly recognizeable 'patterns' in our imaginations - all can also, I guess, be considered masks as well.

My, you are quite true, never thought about that... And it's quite well-spread around the world, think about the Olmeca's and Easter Island sculpts for the most well-known !!!
