Star Fox: Ascension #11 ASCENSION
Here's the 11th and final chapter to my Star Fox Adventures remake, Star Fox Ascension! This was an enormous project for me that consumed nine months of my life to put together. I truly hope that everyone that read this from start to finish enjoyed the story. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun to write!

ACT 11- ASCENSION, With this act the story is over, and I wanted the last chapter to circle back to the very beginning, which is the title of this entire narrative, ‘Ascension’. This, to me, isn’t just Fox’s story, but also Krystal’s. This is her ascension from who she was at the beginning of the story to who she will become after its end, and that is the newest member of the Star Fox Team.
Author’s Commentary
One of my objectives while writing SF: Ascension was that I wanted to link the events of Star Fox Adventures to Star Fox Assault. When Adventures comes to a close with the final cutscene all we see is Krystal strutting onto the bridge to flirt with Fox, and then at the start of Assault it is revealed that Krystal has become a full-fledged member of the Star Fox Team, who now flies an Arwing, is a skilled pilot with ground combat training, and she’s suddenly psychic in ways not seen even in Adventures. Oh, and Peppy has suddenly retired to the Great Fox to act in an advisory role.
None of this gets an explanation, and I wanted my story to explain why Krystal wanted to join the Star Fox Team, setup the reality that she would need combat and flight training, explain why she is psychic, and then explain why Peppy would decide to retire his wings and take a backseat to remain on the Great Fox as an advisor. With Act 11 I sort all of that business out, as well as provide a better foundation for an alternate Star Fox Assault plot that involves Andross’ Empire instead of Shigeru Miyamoto placing an order for a Borg Cube, only to discover that Gene Rodenberry’s estate wanted way too much money in royalties, so Nintendo had to settle for a giant tinfoil bug rather than the Locutus of Borg they were hoping for.
Overall, I am happy with how the entire story turned out. Eleven chapters with an emotional ending that ends at a cliffhanger, and teasing at things to come in the future. I hope everyone enjoys this alternative take on Star Fox Adventures, since I understand it’s quite a bit different from the game! Thanks to everyone whose supported me on Patreon and continued to keep up with this fanfiction from start to finish. I really appreciate you all!

> AITF – pronounced "Eye" "Tee" "Ef", like the I is silent. This name is somewhat inspired by Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, as there is a military force named the AEUG, meaning Anti-Earth Union Group. Parallel to this, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory also helped inspire me, since in that story a ‘long thought dead’ military rises up to wage a last-ditch effort against the protagonists, and the conflict results in the creation of a new military organization, the Titans.
> General Peppers speech has borrowed components from Gen. Dwight Eisenhower's 'Order of the Day' speech from June 6th 1944.
> C.A.S. Ferratus – Ferratus is Latin for iron. I chose this because it felt fitting to name a ship after a strong, but common metal. Most military are common men but are trained to be strong despite their humble origin. The Ferratus is a strong ship made so by common men.
