Currently lightly fiddling with a far older project than the Long Hike or the Dragonscape in general and thinking of reworking this deeply old species from a deeply old world into the DragonScape. That being the Sogaluns (which you can find on my older account of course). And quickly lazy doodled these two folks up
The Sogaluns of Logau are a wb project I was doing back around 2016-2018 or so and has a lot of carry over in a lot of aspects towards the Dragonscape and I've been wanting to work it into the DragonScape lore as a canonical setting of the DragonScape, though one that existed long before the Pulse that made the DragonScape or whatnot.
The current idea is that these are the (new version of the) Ëldimor of the DragonScape lore, a deeply ancient species of dragons native to Õndem that existed prior to the rise of the sivilão in Õndem who, over tens of thousands of years, warped the Ëldimor into the three species seen in the dragonscape that are sentient (The Drekir, Ormer and Mavõtur) and afterwards, wiped the Ëldimor themselves to extinction. So If these guys are the hypothetical Ëldimor precursor species of the modern dragons of the dragonscape I wanted to modify them a bit to make them fit in better. So there is a mix of things from drekir and ormer while trying to keep them distinct. So now they got ears, a bit more of a dreklike head and more of an ormlike body. So hopefully this way they fit into the canonical aesthetics of the dragonscape well enough.
And as a fun thing here is an alternate canon of the dragonscape
I don't know if I would ever go back to recreate the original setting of the sogaluns of logau though it might be a fun side setting to have the dragonscape with the assumption that the sivilão never rose to power in the ancient eons of Õndem and thus, the Ëldimor were never wiped out. So by the time of Jãrsta instead of the ancient, fascistically conservative sivilão machine being thrown into our reality, it would be a more varied collection of Ëldimor peoples. Presumably far more advanced in manatech who would begin rebuilding.
And perhaps in this Alternate Dragonscape when the awakening of the 1st generation happened they would be met by a variety of these manatech dragons from a future long destroyed in the far past of Õndem. Ëldimor with a mastery of artificy and alchemistry living in everything from large city states to small high tech tribes that would induct and mix with these survivors of the 1st generation creating a very different dragonscape.
And the assumption of course would rise that instead of humanity becoming drekir, they would become this same species of Ëldimor as of course in this alternate dragonscape timeline drekir would never come to exist.
The small, suspiciously similarly standing Ëldi on the right demonstrating a more militarized Ëldi from some well equipped group. Complete with a spirit powered artifice headset, a blade with a whirring resonant motor that allows their blade to cut more effectively, a prosthetic artifice leg powered by the users own spirit, and a simple sort of gun of "some type" that goes pew pew.
Just a side thought
I often think about a lot of "Alternative canons" that change the dragonscape in various ways to wonder what could be or could have been for the illfated realities of our own and of Õndem
