How and where do you find these Adoptables?

Normally I find them when the original artist offers them up for sale.  shizuworks offered up a batch three months ago, which this girl was a part of. I think she's planning to sell more in the future, too. Sometimes people who buy them turn around and re-sell them, as was the case here. So it's just a matter of keeping an eye on people's journals, and/or their submissions and seeing when they sell these things. It's something that has actually gotten quite popular lately.

I'm not sure I'd ever be into the idea of "adopting" other people's creations, but I can see the fun in just making pretty characters for other people to enjoy. I've noticed a lot of these adoptables going around lately too. At least you don't have to feed these ones. lol

To be honest, I'm not as into it as I probably seem to be. Some people buy them buy the dozens. I've only bought a handful, and then only the ones that have kind of spoken to me. Or sounded like a fun idea. Actually, the most successful characters I've adopted weren't created to be adoptables at all. They were simply characters that the artist didn't want anymore, and hadn't been able to get off the ground. For some reason, I just found it impossible to let those go by. It's ridiculous, maybe, but I hate to see a character get thrown away, even if their creator doesn't want them anymore. But, for the most part, I still prefer to create my own characters. Each to their own, I guess. I know there are plenty of people who don't care for them, either.

I wouldn't mind getting some more friends for William to interact with. I have two more yet to be drawn and my wife's character who happens to be Williams mate.

Well,  shizuworks puts out a new batch of adoptables every now and then. I think her latest round was about a week ago. If I catch it in time, I thought I'd toss up a journal to let people know, as thanks for her helping me grab this girl from her last owner. She'll do custom adoptables, too, for a slightly higher price. You'll have to talk to her about specifics, but she's a really nice person and I know she'd be glad to help you out.

Hmm may have to think about that after the the first of the year when I have more funds at my disposal. Money is tight due to the holidays and Murphy rearing his ugly head.

Only because  shizuworks was sweet enough to remember I'd wanted her, and to tell me that she was being sold by the person who originally adopted her. That alone really made my weekend! As much as people whine and complain about this site sometimes, there are some really awesome people here, too.

It really was! It was very nice of  shizuworks to point her out to me, too. I know I keep saying it, but it really was very kind of her. *Giggles* And I can see how you might read the word as "adorable" because she most certainly is!
