This was inspired by a dear friend who suggested I could study and play around with toads.

I’ve been playing tropical-themed games (Coral Island) and working on maritime-themed artworks, plus the hot weather, my new G/t OCs… So I’ve been immersed in a big aquatic mood (sailors, selkies, pirates, water creatures!!)

Dunno how I’ll refine this lady yet, but I want to introduce those toads as the merfolk’s companions and transport in Cara and Jacob’s (https://anebarone.tumblr.com/tagged/Cara%20and%20Jacob) universe.

Walking inland is uncomfortable for the merpeople. I’m playing around with the idea of some of them being able to use humanoid legs (like a selkie removing her skin) or grow in size, but some would simply use mounts to make life easier and safer when walking among humans.

I may add all these characters and lore onto the Butterflies / Chew and Yara’s universe (https://anebarone.tumblr.com/tagged/Chew%20and%20Yara) because I’d like to see everyone interacting. Plus the colorful fauna + magic universe seems on point. ♥
