Inks and Flat Color for my piece..im getting a bit dissapointed in it because i know that my inks need work..and when they need work they steal the life from my sketches :(

Everything Burns

She sits in her corner
Singing herself to sleep
Wrapped in all of the promises
That no one seems to keep
She no longer cries to herself
No tears left to wash away
Just diaries of empty pages
Feelings gone a stray
But she will sing
Til everything burns
While everyone screams
Burning their lies
Burning my dreams
All of this hate
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
Walking through life unnoticed
Knowing that no one cares
Too consumed in their masquerade
No one sees her there
And still she sings
Til everything burns
While everyone screams
Burning their lies
Burning my dreams
All of this hate
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
Everything burns
(Everything burns)
Everything burns
Watching it all fade away
(All fade away)
Everyone screams
Everyone screams
(Watching it all fade away)
(While everyone screams)
Burning down lies
Burning my dreams
(All of this hate)
And all of this pain
I'll burn it all down
As my anger reigns
Til everything burns
(Everything burns)
Watching it all fade away

I think the reason why you think that it looks as if it doesn't have much life is probably because that you are just using flat colors as a base color in such a way that is neither abstract or very artistic in the sense that you're just still laying everything out.
Once you start using different brush strokes for textures of fire and ice, and different little highlights and shading, everything will come together and look real. You don't need to have perfect line work to use your style. Maybe you can make it look wonderful by just outlining everything through highlights and shading, instead of the dark lines.
Just experiment a bit and see what happens.

Wow! This turned out great! I love the colors and detail. You did a great job capturing the movement and that pose is killer.
The thing about inking is you are trying to highlight the strongest contours and important details. It, like with many things, takes practice. :)
Just remember, it's art. So, have fun with it! Art takes time, patience, and the will to express one's vision. ;)

I'll wait until you finish before I give any real comment or critique.
As a tip though, if you're having trouble drawing smooth lines, I recommend holding shift while drawing to give straight vertical or horizontal lines, or drawing thick lines and erasing it down so it comes out smoother. if all else fails there's always the pen tool.
