Thanks for faves and comments, I was totally shocked XD You must've stumbled across my stuff seconds after I posted it!

As Base said, yes, it's a "what-if" story behind this. Sonic dies during a mission (I keep seeing Sally's face as Antoine tells her over the com line...) and in this picture it's gone years since then.
It's hard to see but Sally's lost her right eye, and the others are badly worn down by the battles too, both physically and emotionally.
In the end, though, Sonic's spirit is still with her and she'll find the strength to stand tall.
I'd like to turn this into a comic, but I have no idea when I'll have the time.

Heh heh, yeah I'm sure Sonic can be a pain to be around sometimes. Lucky he has a certain princess keeping him onna leash huh? ;)
(I'm always weak for the characters with an ego. No surprise Vinnie is my fave Biker Mice character.)

Aww. That's really moving; I could see Sally still trying to soldier on despite it all crashing down on her. I really like the subtlety in her expression; it tells volumes.
