Auld Lang Syne [by] lavenderpandy

You know, you could say this aged like milk. The sentiment that the new year would be great and we'd be bringing it in fucking in the back room while ol' Dick's balls get dropped in Time Square. ... that we'd be dropping balls in old Dick's time ... that we'd be Square, or to hip to be therein. ...
I say - if life has meaning, which I am highly suspect, then the continuation of which means the continuation of strife. Of challenge. Of the search purpose. Maybe we don't look too fondly on a year for all the love ones we lost, or for the changes we underwent or for the opportunities missed. But if nothing is truly finite then nothing has meaning. Even these words. So often recycled, the sentiment is ... tinged with repetition. As the words march in to what amounts to memedom ... is there anyone left who hasn't heard this before? Anyone truly in need of being told that life is beautiful because it ends?
... I wonder these things as someone stares at my bulgy wulgy. owo.
