So I got a commission from  clairelamouf! She really just asked me to draw her and let me do whatever I wanted with it, and this is what came out. I keep thinking it looks like the poster for a severely surreal art film but luckily for me, she likes that sort of thing. So, if this were a film poster, I think the movie would go something like this:

Claire, is a rebel of sorts - she doesn't need to lash out to be one, she just has to be. The hand could be a symbol of power - hands can build or destroy, present fair warning or obstruct your path forward, but in this case it's beckoning. It could beckon toward self-discovery (as by shearing herself because she feels it fulfills her identity, Claire isn't really violating the external boundaries that keep people safe from one another, but the internal ones that the world builds in our own minds) but also toward danger - in this case, they might be one and the same, as you have to cope with what you learn.
