Even though I normally post these a few days before New Years Eve, I thought I'd just go ahead and do it now, since well, I just feel like it.

So here we go:
Art wise was 2010 again a year of improvement. Not as drastic as a year before maybe, but I am putting much more detail in my pictures, than I did before. Also, I really grasped a style of drawing now. Especially facial features and expressions are no longer "hit and miss" for me.

That said, I'm gonna talk a bit about the pictures seen here and why I chose them to represent the month of the year.

January - Link: Zakumi This picture was the first, I did in 2010. I had quite a struggle on how to start the new year, since I couldnt get motivated to do commissions or anything at all, I went back and thought about how  Wuschelwolf asked me to do a picture of the world cup mascot.
After I finished this picture, I really got back into drawing. So this was really helping me finding my motivation back.

February - Link: Breedin' Bull One of the more obvious choices. I came up with this picture after seeing that Episode of Family Guy in which Peter got raped by this said bull. I initially thought it would sprout a following of furry pictures, much like the episode in which Brian was drawn in a disney style, when him and Stewie went travelling through dimensions. I called that the "disney brian thing" back then, which left several people confused.
Anyway, I was wrong, as far as I know, mine was the only picture to come out of that episode. Still it was pretty popular, so thats why it's here.

March - Link: Sk8 Husky Now here is really one of my favorite pictures of the year. The short skater series I did, was not that popular - since it wasnt porn - but I still think that this picture takes the cake, since it came out exactly the way I wanted.
Looking back there arent a lot of things I would change, if I went back. So yeah, I would definitely call this as one of my best pictures in 2010.

April - Link: Domino
Going from mildly popular to very popular, this picture was one of my first serious tries at horses. It spawned two follow ups and I was really blown away by how many hits it got in a short period of time.
It was also the first try for a long time, to draw an original character multiple times. That way, over the course of the three pictures, I practiced drawing the same character more than once and also how to draw horse muzzles. And it was porn, so yay for that.

May - Link: :A D V E R S A R Y:
Again, obvious choice for the picture of the month. Adversary was a real project for me, that took about 10 constant days of work. The detail and the amount of research I put into this picture, makes it one of my most complex works so far.
I am glad, that the picture came out as well as it did, since I'm still really fond of it and this would also be on the list of my favorite pictures in 2010.


June - Link: Tiger Beach
Now June was a tough one, since I did draw a lot of pictures that month. But in the end I thought, I'd go with my gut and just chose my favorite picture. :P
Tiger Beach was a pretty easy concept, but I think it works really well. Even though I made some mistakes here and there, I still consider this as my favorite "ass pic" this year. :P

July - Link: Custom Murcielago
Surprise, no drawn picture here! July was the month, I was busy with my exam, so I didnt have much time to draw. And whenever I had a few minutes to take a break, I fired up 3ds max and worked on that darn model. Now I still havent gotten the rig to work. I was right in the middle of following a tutorial when suddenly a part, that was supposed to work, did not work at all. Thats when I quit working on that. Though I will definitely use it as a background element one day. I just need to be in the mood. :P

August - Link: Waking Up

I cant believe that this picture is already three months old, I still feel like just finishing it up yesterday. This one was based on another picture I found on FA. I thought it was an incredibly cute idea and it really tickled my sense for little details. I really love the final picture. The expression is just right, the color tone is warm and creates an atmosphere, that I think everybody can relate to.

September - Link: Air Butt

This picture was spawned by a quick idea and I didnt think, I would even finish it. But it went so well and smooth, that I was quite surprised. Only the background took forever. I kinda thought I would need a rendered background from 3ds max, to get the reflections on the floor right. So I built a quick scene and raytraced the fuck out of it, just to make it look good.
Oh and I also rendered it in full resolution, which took about 2 hours to render or so. Just so I could find out later, that the background looked like crap and I had to darken it. Learned quite a lesson from that mistake. :P
Anyway, I still really like this picture, since it's a kind of rule34, you dont see so often. :P


October - Link: Halloween Party

This one is mainly here, since it was born out of frustration.
I really like doing clever pictures, you know throw ideas around and draw things for holidays and special seasons, you wouldnt immediately think of. So I was struggling to top last years Halloween picture, in which I had a nude wolf, going as a werewolf. :P
That idea, again complimentary thanks to  Wuschelwolf, was pretty neat and I hoped I could have come up with something similar. So I googled Halloween costumes and tried to do something original.
And I failed miserably. But when I went from costumes, to demons, to costumes, I thought of one of the most obvious ideas: a Halloween party.
The costumes was switched for an addition of extra penis and I had quite a neat concept.
Put on some tattoo like splats of color to work as a halloweenish type thing and tada - the thing is done and done well.
Also I finally recalled using purple or a similar color for the shading instead of plain black, that will come in handy for future pictures.

November - Link: Shower Tiger
Again, here is one picture that turn out much better than expected.
I had done some shower pictures before, but I never really got the hang of it. I was still clueless on how to convey wet fur realistically, since I had already cleverly forgotten that in the two beach pictures.
So with this picture, I finally wanted practice that scenario a bit. I looked through dozens of pictures with furs in the shower, to look at how other artists were doing it. The final result took a lot of work, but I think it was more than worth it, since again, the facial expression, the mood and the style of "wetness" create a very unique atmosphere, that I really like.


December - Link: Socks And Stuffing
And finally: Another obvious choice. Socks and Stuffing I chose since, well, I havent drawn anything so far in december. But I guess even if I had, I would still fancy this one as my defining picture fo the month.
First, because it's a christmas themed picture and second, since I had so much fun drawing it.
It was a quick and fun process, in which  Wuschelwolf accompanied me via voicechat for the most part.
The idea was again spawned from pure frustration over last years picture, which I really wanted to top.
I couldnt think of anything with the two reindeer brothers, that looked fitting to me, so I changed the direction completely. Dildos, crossdressing and a willing husky - what more could you want for christmas? :P


So thats it for 2010. I'm not sure if I will finish anymore pictures this year, but you'll never know. As far as I'm concerned for the next year, I have a few projects in planning, that will surely be fun to do. Commission will also be much more frequent than they were this year, so be sure to check my journals for any news updates on this and more.
