Sunset Shimmer has been corrupted again by black magic having made her become selfish, cruel, manipulative and dishonest again. She managed to lure Cadence, Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle to an abandoned section of Canterlot high school.
When she arrived there, she tied tied/gagged them on chairs. After that, Sunset began to search every nook and cranny of the institution in search of Twilight’s crown and managed to get her hands on it.
She announced her diabolical plan to the three prisoners : "My intention is to use the magic of the crown to invade and conquer the kingdom of Equestria, to put the princesses Celestia, Luna and all the inhabitants at my feet and then to begin a reign of terror. Nothing will stop me, nor will Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie whom I will take care of before I take the interdimensional passage so as not to have anyone to oppose my goal."
