After the events of the TV movie Equestria girls 2 : Rainbow rocks, Sunset Shimmer and her friends needed to rest and enjoy life knowing that the fight against the Dazzlings was very difficult and they almost didn't defeat them.
For the weekend of Ascension, their choice of destination was Los Angeles aka the city of the stars and more precisely the beach of Malibu to grant themselves beautiful sessions of bronzing as well as games of beach volleyball to make sport and to maintain in form.
The weather is incredibly radiant for a month of May with no clouds on the horizon, wind less than 15km/h and temperature around 25 degrees, which is the idea to not suffer from the heat while being the ideal conditions for beach volleyball where Sunset is waiting for Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash to apply a good dose of sunscreen to avoid sunburns that can be easy to catch given the climate of southern California.
