Jade and Viper were sent on a mission to go back in time to the events of episode 29 The Book of the Dawn of time part 2 to prevent a time paradox caused by Daolowong.
By wanting to prevent Daolowong from teaming up with Shendu to warn him of future events where Jade from the past was spared the time change operated by the dragon having used Jackie Chan's body to travel to Australia and use the Book of the Dawn of Time to change the course of time, Jade and Viper were given ingredients to concoct Uncle's spells to help them in the mission and were neutralized by the Shadow army ninjas and were then tightly bound/gagged before being locked in a cage in Shendu's palace
