After the end of the events of W.I.T.C.H season 2, the W.I.T.C.H. decided to go on a Christmas holidays to a luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro without taking their pendants with them and everything went well for 4 days.
Unfortunately, while Hay and Irma were shopping in the city, Cornelia, Taranee and Will were targeted by thugs from the Favelas without being able to put up any resistance as they were securely tied/gagged on the beach while they were enjoying a relaxing tanning session.
The girls must regret not having taken their pendants with them, which would have been very useful in this delicate situation and will have to think about learning martial arts when they get home.
