For Hermione and Luna Lovegood, this class is a real hell where they are forced to cast the Cruciatus spell on 1st year students as guinea pigs, unfortunately the young witches hate having to apply this method and by dint of having demonstrated too often their displeasure with these cruel and barbaric methods for 2 weeks, they were severely punished by having to spend 5 hours of glue every weekend for a month being bound/gagged in the potions classroom.
