The man known only as Relic is a treasure hunter seeking out all the legendary treasures of the Mediterranean. It all started when he found the gilded hand of King Midas at age 20 and went as far as replacing his own hand with it, somehow knowing by instinct that this would work in his favour. After locating many treasures over the next 35 years, including the head of Medusa, the sword of Damocles, a pauldron lined with golden fleece, a tablet meant for summoning the guardian of Tartarus, and a large box said to have once contained all the ills of the world, he suddenly met an untimely death. However, his will was so strong that he didn't remain dead. Shortly after dying, he continued his travels and would become more ghoulish as time went on. He continues his search for ancient treasures to this day, hiding his decayed face and somehow managing to pass himself off as a regular human, albeit one with a rather sickly appearance. Lately he's been hearing talk of monster sightings and attacks, strange weather phenomena and powerful otherworldly energies, and he can't help but wonder what kind of treasure he could grab by taking advantage of all this.
