More Inktober ? Moar Tina !
Early inking of Tina from 'The Metal-Men' in a more conventional s/f comics style. Back in those days using Zipatone type film patterns was the height of slick comic book art, so, of course, i wanted to develop some facility with the technique. You would buy these sheets of tones/patterns/etc (not cheap)with patterns but otherwise clear ( so that the art could show through ). The you layed it over the art and cut out an approximate size piece using an X-acto knife, peeled it off the sheet, and it had an adhesive backing side that attached to the paper, and then you wold trim it to the exact shapes with the knife. A bit tedious, but the end result looked techy and ready for print.
But ....
Over time the film shrank. So i had to do some digital fixes where it had shank away from the lines. i did that many moons ago, but i think i still never posted it to FA cuz shrinking it down from the original scan of 8,338 x 2,354 px completely trashed the lines and tones - and it's not a big picture - approx 3 x 11 in. Hence the source file of 2160 px which is still nearly a quarter of the original size.
crow-quill pens and India ink and Zipatone etc etc

(* sigh *) The me of fifty years ago... eventually grew up and met some real girlfriends.
Great work in hard-tone black and white. Too bad about the Zip-A-Tone, though. I found some Letraset signage I made for a local bookstore back in the 1980s. Shrink and curl, big time; life in an unheated and uncooled attic was not kind to it.

Teens are prone to devoping crushes on fictional characters. we see a bit of that continuing affection/nostalgia/humor here on FA.
Yep, Letraset also shrunk over the years.
Don't get me started on "Rubber Cement" as a fixative/glue - it was used in print production art for many decades - paste up the art for print - but it starts to turn yellow after five years and the brown after ten years, getting worse and worse. i've had at least eigthy art works damaged by Rubber Cement.

Oh, I remember fussing with Zipatone, yes. I was on a budget, and every little scrap between the cut-out portions was saved. I desperately laid down the littlest leftover bits like jigsaw pieces, trying to get as much use out of every sheet as I could...
In any case, sweet pic. I'm an old fan of the Metal Men, and I have a soft spot for Tina.
