The thing on the right is a speaker, its a very old metal membrane speaker horn for an old radio. We have it streaming music from 1910-1920's from the other room, and it is controlled (on/off) by the knife switch on the console in the middle.
There is a selector switch to turn on the fan, and the lights above the work bench are controlled by the large dimmer knob in the middle of the console, the meters respond to current to the fan and lights.
