I wonder how a 3rd eye would help a predator, I know it's just something Vera has on some of her characters but it's still an interesting thought.
Another possibility is that if the third eye saw in infrared, the animal could see right through the camoflage of mammals and other dinosaurs. Actually, I should totally design a creature with an IR sensitive third eye.
If anything it would make active camo absolutely useless, as computer screens would just be blue and blank. :p
