The Manga is one of the very few that actually made me cry.

The part where Aki tries to get Power and Denji out of having to fight, and Makima makes it clear that she's using them with or without him by their side.

The line "You cannot kill the Gun Devil" is just seared into my brain. It's so (no pun intended) loaded. I read on the shonen jump app, and had to take my phone out of its case to clean it up.

Aki realizing he can't protect his charges made me viscerally ill. There's so many complexities, I could go on for days, but the way Gun Devil appeared later, and the way it was framed was also one of the most effective uses of sequential media I've ever seen in my life.
