Cat on a hot tin roof.
The original inking of this was from around '92. i was practicing using a brush pen and found that was rather good at feathering (thick to thin shading lines), so i thought i'd do a psuedo Walley Wood style picture - which reminded me of the first issues of Marvel's "The Cat" that he did. So i did a quick sketch of her and proceeded play around. But i reeely should have spent more time on the penciling as i had made her torso too short. So i sawed the lady in half back in Aug '21 and like magic put her back together this week. And then i had waaay too much fun with the tones.
There is a furry tie-in here: The character who was the original "The Cat" later mutated into Tigra.

Yeah, Marie Severin worked on Issues 1 and 2, coloring 2. Bill 'The Sub-Mariner' Everett did the inks for #3 -- he died before it hit the news stands -- and Jim Starlin and Roy Thomas were the only big names in #4. All four issues were written by Linda Fite. Wickedpedia also has a page on The Cat/Tigra.
i had forgotten Everett's inking on #3 ! i was looking at his inking on Thor the other day, so sort of distracted. Everett's inking on #3 was exquisite !!!
i'll have to look up Linda Fite, as the story and character development was rather interesting.
The opposite of exquisite were Romita's covers on #2, 3, and 4. Romita did some o.k. psudo-Kirby dynamic layouts, but when he finished and inked his own stuff it was like he was stuck in Terry And The Pirates and such strips. In a bad way.
