(2020 REUPLOAD) Don't Hug Me I'm Scared
REUPLOAD FROM DEVIANTART
After being inspired by my friends recommending it, I decided to check out the British comedy horror puppet show Don't Hug me I'm Scared series on YouTube (it came out from 2011-2016 but I've never got around to watching it, but with me slowly but surely working down a list of series I'd like to watch, I decided to watch it all :D ), and I'd like to thank them for inspiring me to watch it. :) And here's a piece of fanart I've been working for a while for it, and I'm happy to have drawn it to share for you all. ;)
The series follows Yellow Guy, Duck Guy and Red Guy as they come across some rather..... unique life lessons bestowed by increasingly psychotic teachers. :fear: Not only is it a rather hilarious series with a lot of weird humour, but it also manages to be a pretty scary experience at times with it managing to do a great job with starting off like an edutainment show similar to something like Sesame Street, but then some legitimately creepy and shocking stuff starts to seep in... And it only gets scarier as the series goes on with some good dose of esixtential and surreal horror sprinkled in among the shock horror.... and the puppetry and special effects become more and more effective as the series goes on. D8 And I must say that I wasn't expecting the series to have continuity present - I thought it was an episodic series, but there is an overarching plot over the six episodes, and it comes together strangely well at the end - a friend made a good point that it starts off like a dark parody of puppet edutainment shows, but it has some surprisingly deep underlying lore to it as well, and my friend even said that it feels like it seems to be like a bit like 'educational' programs and educational institutes as a whole that manipulate children into one singular way of thinking and doing things that causes a boatload of harm in the long run. :o
The series does have a lot of theories behind it's events and characters, and I find it really interesting finding out more about what people think about the messages of the show and I'm really happy I checked the show out. Thanks again those who suggested it. :D
