Child to the Geruda organisation's super soldier program, Saphira has spent half of her life as a test subject. The product of advanced genetical manipulation, she has been enhanced beyond normal physical limits; her strength, her speed, accelerated reaction time, heightened physical endurance, a steadfast immuno-response to disease and illness... Saphira was the perfect embodiment of what the organisation hoped to achieve, and proved herself exemplary amongst her super soldier peers.
However, through their tampering, the Geruda scientists made an unexpected discovery: they seem to have succeeded in halting the aging process in the young wolf, leading many to postulate that Saphira may now possess a kind of quasi-immortality not present in their other subjects. Determined to test their theory and discover what this unexpected mutation was, Geruda marked Saphira for horrendous experimentation, and ultimately, vivisection. After all, while she may be an excellent soldier, if her body holds the secret to extending life indefinitely, her value as a test subject far outweighs her use in battle. They sought to remove every organ, examine every drop of blood, and splice every last cell in her body to discover the truth... When Saphira discovered the horrifying plans the organisation had for her, the young wolf had no choice but to use her unmatched skills to escape the clutches of Geruda, and ever since that day, she has been relentlessly hunted.
Life outside the walls of the facility was harsh and bitter for the escaped super soldier, forced to constantly move to evade her pursuers. Her attempts to blend into society and live a normal life were foiled at every turn, forcing her underground, yet bounty hunters and small armies of mercenaries continued to dog her trail. She couldn't hide in civilised society, nor could she escape into the criminal underworld, and so she had tried to lose herself in the wilderness. But even there, danger stalked her. It seemed Saphira was doomed to live her entire existence as a fugitive, and if the scientists were correct, and her agelessness was a sign of immortality, her life was set to be a bleak, restless one.
But new hope was kindled when she heard of the Battle Beast Tournament. A wish fulfilled - Saphira didn't know how much truth there could be in such a promise, but if the mysterious benefactor behind the tournament could do even half of what they claimed, the young wolf could finally be free. If she could win, her nightmare would be over. If she could win, maybe she would finally know what its like to live in peace...
