SO THERE ARE TWO BEAST MACHINES CHARACTER DESIGNS THAT REALLY MAKE ME IRRATIONALLY ANGRY.

JETSTORM'S, AND

NIGHTSCREAM'S.

He's got man legs and a man torso and walks bipedally, all in beast mode. His feet are backwards. He has a tail and no uropatagium. He has no propatagium, his plagiopatagium is MASSIVELY fucked up, and his dactylopatagium doesn't fold correctly. His head is cat-shaped. His forelimbs are fucked up. Even his COLOR is wrong.

The only things about his design that say "bat" are his ears, his nose-leaf, and his teeth.

So tonight I sat down and started sketching out an ACTUAL BAT beast mode.

I had to make compromises for ground mobility, so instead of being based on a single species, he ended up being about 90% spectral bat (Vampyrum spectrum), 5% vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus), and 5% Jeholopterus.

(Vampire bat for the hind limbs, since they're the only bat species with good ground mobility, and Jeholopterus influenced the forearms/"hands", altogether giving him relatively strong quadrupedal locomotion. He would still be faster in the air, but he wouldn't be helplessly crawling on his belly on the ground. Also, he would be a fantastic climber!)
