Why do you never see any pictures of Tails as an older adult?

I mean the concept of tails was in 1992ish, so technically he's about 18. Assume he was like.... i don't know 7 in the game. He would be 25 now.

Yet while in recent Sonic games the characters are supposed to sound older, Tails seems to be in this forever-pedophile-time-paradox where he can't age past 9.
