Not a bad name right there, but in reality: The quicksand roll is a technique that will help you get to the surface of mud and quicksand. It distributes weight across a broad surface, and if you roll just right, you can try to roll toward a potentially stable shore. Its a self rescue method to assist your escape.
If you can't get yourself in a good position to crawl out, you lay on your back and shimmy your arms, in an effort to slide upon the surface layers of the muck.
