You don't see what's got ahold of you, if it's a beast or simply goo that wrapped around your arms. You know that it was sticky and had enveloped your limbs, splitting your arms into two and tugging chitin into existence as you tried to flee in the pitch darkness.
Some sort of mandibles sprout from your face, and if you squint you can barely make out a wall just before you run into it. Yet you've managed to tug yourself free... sort of.
A new, not quite fully formed but getting there, tail sways behind you, and antennae twitch on your head. Paw-like fingers squish as you try to steady yourself, somehow starting to see once more. This is a strange thing, having a body like this- but not unpleasant. In fact, the longer you look at yourself, the more you like it, mandibles twitching in satisfaction.
