The University of Puerto Rico is in great danger: the Public-Private Dictatorship of the N@zi Party of Doom (my bad, New Progressist Party), who through the central administration of the UPR System want to do away with public education, Actions like enforcing police presence in the campuses "to ensure the University's safety" and even establishing police barracks inside them (as stated by the General of the Gets@po (my bad, superintendent of the Police) José Figueroa Sancha); increase the costs of studies ($800 for an annual finnancial [de]stabilization fee that does not solve anything and only serves to transform the University into a club for the wealthy; and there are numerous options to gain efficiency and get additional income without taking away from students and professors) and shrink the University (less courses, less students, less professors, less "expenses" that promote the development of an intelligent and combative population).
It doesn't matter how much others say that negotiation is possible; that isn't true. If the administration wanted to genuinely negotiate, the strike from April to June 2010 would have ended after three weeks, and not two months. Negotiations for the current situation would have started already, but now, the University is to be shrank, made costlier and be militarized, because otherwise those who want to study won't be able to do so. Yeah, right, to become servile workers, not integer people who strive for the best future for Puerto Rico, Now, what happens startin with next Tuesday is something else, as the current tension is too high.
I, on the least, support the fight, not indifference and fear. ¡And if I have to be on a fighting stance, may it be so!

And that University building is huge! 0_0
And that seems rather self to want to turn into a Big wig club. I wonder what would happen one day if all the really wqealthy people suddenly had little money. Like they run out of stream, and the middle class and "lower" class refuse to help them. I'd laugh.
