Downtown, my darling on four feet,
In the war of independence, armlessness gives a prideful streak.
Under neon signs, a dog was vavoom
And the poodle skirt irony, drawing stares around the poolroom,
I asked, "Shake?" She looks askance, looks around the manse, "I would have to prance,"
And she told us, she don't have handses, she would have to carry it in a two-leg stance,
We got her in a pose against the jukebox, writing new lyrics to what they do in France,
And we were rollin', rollin', rock and rollin'.
(Fun fact - that video, in Santa Barbara, 1980: Elfangor and Loren could have been at that concert. I like to think they had a nice life.)
