Aside from the surroundings, what is happening here?

So, on one of the Discord servers I'm on, if there's a particular character that you like, or are more sympathetic towards, than other people, or identify especially with, you're often jokingly accused of 'kinning' with that character. Basically, the 'accusation' is that you're not viewing the character objectively because you're subconsciously replacing them with yourself - which is why it's especially thrown around if the character you like is broadly unpopular. =p But the important thing here is, you don't claim the kinning yourself, you're assigned the label by other users.

So, in my case, Chase here is one of the characters I've been told I'm kinning, so I ran with the idea as an excuse to do a quick little character TF into Chase. Mostly just because I wanted to make something quick and easy because I've been antsy lately about wanting to draw but generally lacking the time and energy for more... Impressive? pieces.

Yeah but like, is this teleportation vs reality alteration? Personality change? Just body? Some kind of cursed camera?

The camera is the trigger, yeah. Chase is a journalist, so the specific idea here was his essence, so to speak, was contained within his camera. When it come to personality change with character TF, I tend to imagine both the original personality and the character's are present, with one or the other becoming dominant depending on stimuli. In this sequence, my original personality remains dominant, but in an imagined story taking place following this image, that might not be the case forever. As for teleportation vs. reality alteration, that's left up to the viewer to decide, so whichever seems more interesting to you. =p
