I know it seems like I haven't been doing much, and while I may not have posted much, that's not because I'm not doing anything. It's just that much of what I'm doing right this moment isn't art, and a big chunk of the art I just did is for a conbook, and I'm not putting it out till after the con, if at all.
This though, this is a warmup piece I did for the upcoming cover of ROAR Volume 3. I also used it as a demonstration piece for my printmaking panel at MFF a couple weeks back. It's loosely based on a scene from a Kevin Frane story, set in the same universe as his excellent novel Thousand Leaves and magnificent novel Seventh Chakra.

Thanks. This kind of stuff is hard work, and I'm glad it turned out well.

Where in the stories does this take place? Which canon characters does it contain? And does Rikoshi approve of this?

OP
This is a scene that doesn't quite happen in an unpublished Kevin Frane story. The story will be published in about a month and a half in the Bad Dog Books anthology Roar 3. The characters are actually named Lars and Serry (though Serry is a nickname). They are the main characters in the story, which is clearly set in the same universe, but doesn't overlap with anything as of yet. I'm not sure if Rikoshi has noticed that the finished version is up on FA, but he was quite into it when I showed him the work in progress at MFF and I know he's quite happy that his story will be on the cover of the book.

Great! Because we all want to see what he's got planned next for that book series.
