Yes! for all those who were kids and young adults around the early 90s, this day, October 8th, one of our favourite fighting games of all times turns 30 years! so i wanted at least do a little homage to it, since it was a part of my life and fond memories during those wonderful years, couldn´t make anything more elaborate but at least did something nevertheless >XD
Still remember that day, around early 93 at an hotel´s arcade gallery i used to visit alot while on vacation with my family, looking at the cabinets and suddenly noticing a fancy new one, at the beginning i thought "oh look like a new one from the same type of Pit Fighter" then i saw the Subzero ripping Raiden´s head appart spine included and then i was "Woooow! ok! this is a whole new level" the rest was history >XD
All hail the king of fighting games! Long live to the MORTAL KOMBAT! >X)

I sure as hell remember all the hyped news warning parents about the over-the-top violence and gore. Ironically, this helped to sell the various home console releases on Mortal Monday, Sept.13th, 1993 (even the bowdlerized SNES version)!
The same treatment was also given to the original DooM in late 1993. Again, the same hype about it turning youths into violent hellions, while making beaucoup bucks for a then fledgling id software! 🤣
@ Mariano: would you be willing to give DooM the same treatment, just like this nostalgic artwork? The original release date was December 10th, 1993.
Thank you!😎
And damn, now I am feeling old! *shakes fist at and yells at random cloud in the sky*

LOL What´s funny is the fact that previous to the first MK there were already arcade games which were equaly if not more violent than it, yet since it became so popular and a trend, then parents and fucking politicians tried to boicot-forbid it, typical reactions you see from some part of the society when something is strarting to have success, btut hey, any free publicity is a good publicity, even when it´s bad >XD. it was from that moment that VGs started to have clasification depending on their content as we use to see today.
I were thinking more about do something with Jurassic Park, that movie was too iconic and representative of that year, never was a fan of Doom since i never had the chance to play it too much on it´s day, besides, i really hate first person games, it´s a style i can´t stand even a little >XD

That is true for any new media. Even if someone decides to act out what they have seen in these games then they were already mentally deranged to begin with. Study after study has shown very little, if any evidence, of the exhibition of violent behavior as a result of playing of violent games. The best part is that, here in the USA, these works are considered artistic expression, like movies and music and literature. Thus they are protected by the 1st amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which acknowledges freedom of religion, speech, peacefully assembly and petition.
To all the so-called 'moral' guardians: IN UR FACE!!!😆
Yeah the first Jurassic Park was quite iconic for 1993, although certain aspects of Michael Crichton's novel were better. There was more exposition regarding various scientific theories. Oh, almost forgot, it was also far more violent and gory!
As for your dislike of FPS games I understand not everyone likes them. Hell, I hardly play video games now and can't stand certain aspects of modern gaming. You have to admit though, DooM was quite the programming feat for its day!
